This Wednesday, 21 January, the president of the Provincial Association of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of Lugo (Apehl), Cheché Real, will unveil a new edition of the tourism-and-gastronomy guide series for the province of Lugo, …E para comer, Lugo, at the International Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid (Fitur), for the eighteenth consecutive year.
Galicia’s stand at Fitur will once again host the official presentation, starting at 3:10 p.m. As Apehl’s top representative, Cheché Real will reveal all the content of this year’s publication, titled Lugo, bajo la magia del eclipse, which this time focuses on an extraordinary event: the total solar eclipse on 12 August, an astronomical appointment that will make the province one of the most attractive places from which to observe it.
Lugo will be a privileged place to enjoy the eclipse, both because of its location and the variety of landscapes and natural viewpoints, with open horizons and diverse settings, which make the province a particularly suitable destination to live a unique experience. The guide adopts this phenomenon as its common thread and invites visitors to plan a different kind of trip in which sky and land come together: coming for the eclipse and staying for everything Lugo has to offer.
Its pages feature suggestions to discover must-see heritage, stunning natural areas, routes, plans and characteristic local food products, as well as curiosities and recommendations for exploring the county districts. As a playful nod, in this edition each district is linked to a zodiac sign—an invitation to choose a destination in a surprising way, understanding travel also as play and discovery.
The publication is produced with the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia and serves as a record of the various activities carried out by the Association throughout 2025. It includes different gastronomic initiatives, several tapas competitions, participation for the thirteenth year in La Vuelta, and the complete directory of all its member hospitality establishments.
